Steve started out in the restaurant business as a host for the original Giordano’s on Rush Street in downtown Chicago in 1989. He has been in the restaurant business ever since, except for a couple of stints as a carpenter for a construction company in Chicago and crewmate and chef on two commercial fishing vessels in Alaska. Steve has truly enjoyed his time in the hospitality industry, "because it’s a true pleasure to get to throw a dinner party every night for 250 of my closest friends." His first general manager position was at Pinot Bistro in 2002. Since Pinot Bistro Steve has been a General Manager at two other Patina Group Restaurants; Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse and Café Pinot. He has also had the pleasure of being the GM at Simon LA, The Foundry on Melrose and Mi Piace of Pasadena. Steve enjoys golfing and fishing, but his greatest joy is spending time with his wonderful family.
Director of Catering
Cassandra started working in events 9 years ago within the entertainment industry working on film premiers and film festivals. This led into further charity and social events, and she began to fall in love with the event industry. She holds a B.A in Communications and an MSc in International Event Management.
Cassandra was born and raised in Southern California and after her last position as a Director of Catering for a venue in Northern California for over 2 years, she is happy to be back in Southern California and working with such a wonderful and dedicated team at Castaway! She strives daily for excellent customer service and building team spirit within the catering office that shows through to our clients
